This list is really very incomplete... but maybe you find here and there a
program you did not know about yet.
First on the list are Performances, then Talk Shows!
An X and X Japan TV List will follow, don't worry.
(The data on this List were provided by my friends Liao san and Yuna chan. Thanxxx very much!)

Dice
hide chan wears a gray fantasy military uniform, stands inside a cage and is accompanied by INA on
keyboards and girls on drums and bass. Behind the cage half naked dancers perform and grab
hide chan who gets rid of his guitar by the end of the song and touch him all over reaching through
the bars. After the performance Tamori says: "I will start with rock 'n roll", since he liked
the naked dancers! (laugh)
.
Tell Me + Doubt
At Dice hide chan mounted the stage alone, this time he has his band members together, all wear
white clothes, including hide chan with white bondage pants and a white gaze shirt.
During Tell Me nothing special happens, but during Doubt hide chan gets rid of his guitar and
black rain starts to fall on the stage. hide chan looks absolutely, absolutely great with the black rain
smearing his red hair, his face and the white clothes!
.
Beauty & Stupid
hide chan enters the studio alone again, but when it's his turn of course his band is there as well.
More than two years have passed since his last solo performance at Music Station.
Tamori makes fun of him that he cut his hair (laugh).
.
Hi-Ho
For the promotion of the Hi-Ho/Good-Bye maxi single hide chan appears at Music Station again,
with his half naked dancers from his tour and girls in Sailor Moon uniforms dancing around him.
hide chan, apparently a little excited, forgets his text and the Hi-Ho lyrics become pretty much
mixed up! Very cute.
.
Rocket Dive
hide with spread beaver appears! On stage INA and D.I.E. are attached to ribbons and
jump around the stage like hell!

Saturday Jungle
Date 1997.1.18 (TV Station ?)
For a while the opening song of this talk show was Hi-Ho and the ending Good-Bye.
So once they invited hide chan to perform the songs live. The Hi-Ho performance is very
good, professional and cool! hide chan with his dancers from the Psyence a GoGo Tour
gives a perfect performance. During the show hide chan is one of the guests and one of
the program's hosts asks him rather stupid questions about where the title of Hi-Ho comes from,
saying he associates it with the 7 Dwarfs from Walt Disney's animation movie, who sing
a song called Hi-Ho while they work. hide chan just smiles and declines that his Hi-Ho has
anything to do with the 7 dwarfs (laugh). By the end of the show hide chan does a very
stunning performance of Good-Bye. All alone!!!
To some playback in the background he performs Good-Bye with an accoustic guitar singing
live and without any band members in sight. As far as I am informed that is the only time
where hide chan performs one of his songs absolutely solo.
.
Pop Jam (NHK)
hosted mostly by Moriguchi Hiroko (at least during X times)
.
Date Title Short Comment
1996.9.7 Beauty&Stupid life in L.A.
1997.2.8 Hi-Ho sexy!
1998.2.7 Rocket Dive no coordination
 .
Beauty & Stupid
hide chan gets rid of his guitar pretty quickly and instead of someone taking it away from the
stage as usual, the guitar remains lying on the floor all the time (laugh).
In the interview before the performance hide chan tells of life in L.A., how he heard gunshots
from his home and looking out of the window saw a guy with a gun running down the street like
in the movies... uah... kowai!
.
Hi-Ho
Again his dancers accompany hide chan throughout this rather wild and sexy performance!
By the end Moriguchi interviews a panting and out of breath hide chan and seems almost
afraid of him and the power! (laugh)
.
Rocket Dive
In the rocket dive video there is this scene where hide chan moves up and down while standing,
bending his knees, isn't there? In this live performance Kiyoshi and hide chan try to coordinate
their knees to the rythm and to each other, but it doesn't really work (laugh).

1991 Talk Live (Some Kyushu TV Station)
In this one hour program hide chan is the only guest from X. The program is interrupted by
several X video clips, but the rest is an interview with hide chan. The talks are mostly about the
Jealousy album and its recording. Very cute is the beginning, the host of the program announces
hide chan and hide chan mounts the stage, fans scream frantically and he turns on his heel and
leaves the stage again in an attempt to escape them! (laugh) But smiling he soon returns and
starts the talk show. He talks about live in L.A. and that during the Jealousy recording almost
all band members went sick one way or the other (laugh)... and they all had to see doctors,
that's why there are so many Dr. Somethings on the "Thanks to" list of Jealousy album.
Then fans are allowed to ask him questions, or better to say hide chan has selected
some questions that were put to him before he appeared and that the TV people must have collected
from the audience. One question is about food, a rather strange question, a girl said her favorite
food is Miso soup (soy bean paste soup) with water melon in it and asks what hide chan's favorite is.
Now Miso soup and water melon is a very wild combination and hide chan had asked the TV
people to prepare such a soup. They bring the soup onto the stage, call the girl who asked the
question on stage as well and let her test her own specialty. It was a joke apparently and the stuff
tastes awful, under screams and cheers from fans hide chan tries the Water-Melon-Miso-Soup as
well but does not like it too much either! (laugh)
.
Waratte ii tomo (Fuji TV)
Date: 1994.3.17
Introduced by Sakura Atsushi from Buck-Tick, Tamori interviews hide chan.
hide chan wears a hat, but no sunglasses (of course make up) and has lots of accessories all
around him that clatter and clatter whenever he moves (laugh). He talks about his times of being
not too slim as a kid, about drinking of course and about Yoshiki, how he tries to keep himself in shape for his crazy drumming. The story with the most impact though is how the fans (girls) get naked in the
front rows during a live (laugh)... hide chan uses very polite language and Tamori laughs quite a
deal at that. hide chan says he never knows where the hell to look at when one of the girls
undresses herself in the heat of the live, so he perfers to stare at his guitar! (big laugh)
.
Boys and Girls (TV Station ?)
Date: 1994.10.23
Hiding behind sunglasses and a hat hide chan talks to Kenji Ootsuki for about half an hour and
as far as I know it's the only time he talks about the following story on TV:
When he was still not famous and working as a beautician he got kidnapped once!
There was a girl who had something to do with certain gangster circles in Japan and she had
disappeared and her notebook was found where the last entry read: hair make appointment with Matsumoto Hideto or something like that. So the gangsters thought hide chan had something
to do with her disappearance, waited for him somewhere and forced him to mount a car. They drove
him to who knows where and hide chan thought that would be the end of him! The gangsters ushered
him into some lonely apartment and questioned him about the girl for hours, but he had nothing
much to tell of course, since he hardly knew her. Finally the girl reappeared and someone called the gangsters to inform them that they've got the wrong guy and they apologized and drove hide chan
back to town where they let him go, just saying "sorry, ne" with a grin!
uah!!!!!!!!!! kowai! Scary story!!!
.
Waratte ii tomo (Fuji TV)
Date: 1996.11.17
This time hide chan hides behind sunglasses and a hat. He mostly talks with Tamori about
Onsen (Japanese hot springs) and that with his pink hair he cannot go to big places since all the
old men in the onsen stare at him (laugh). So he hides his hair beneath a towel if he goes incognito
to a big onsen (laugh). By the end of the program hide chan phones up Yoshiki and asks him to
show up in the program the next day. While they talk together they laugh at a private joke concerning a bicycle, only the two of them know and the poor viewer asks him/herself what the hell that joke
was all about!?
.
Break Out (TV Station?)
Dates: 1998.1.20, 2.3, 2.10
Shouji san interviews hide chan. The program was broadcast in three portions over three weeks.
The best anecdote is when hide chan explains his guitar to Shouji san. When you play wireless you
have a little receiver that you have to place somewhere (hide chan usually attaches it to the strap
of his guitar in his back) and when he was starting with this sort of equipment it was either not fully developed yet or it was too cheap or whatever, anyway, sometimes he had the radio frequency
of a taxi company on that receiver! So while playing you could sometimes hear things like:
"Car 7, go to the corner at Shibuya and Something and pick up an old lady waiting in front of that and
that building!" (laugh)...
.
 Rocket Punch (TV Station?)
Dates: 1998.5.11, 5.19, 5.25, 6.1.
That program is almost 2 hours long, was broadcast in 4 half hour sessions and contains the
only live performances of Pink Spider, Ever Free and Doubt 97, alongside with Rocket Dive.
These performances were later implemented in the "his invincible deluge evidence" video.
In the interview section of this program the most interesting stories are the following:
The filming of Electric Cucumber video:
The director of that video gave hide chan a choice: Either you put on pampers or cockroaches! (laugh) Even though he hates cockroaches, hide chan decided for them, since pampers were even more unthinkable to him (laugh). So they smeared his body with this glue stuff and put cockroaches all over him. One they put into his mouth and hide chan says, you have to put it with its tail first into your mouth and not with the head, since if you place it into your mouth with the head first, the cockroach might escape and rush down your throat! uah!!!!!
Injuries:
In 1997 hide chan had two big accidents. In spring he fell when he was drunk and hit his
head on the concrete. Next day he thought: "Damn that hurts... that's more than a usual hangover",
and decided to see a doctor. The doctor checked him and said: "Well... you have more or less
broken your skull!!!! But sorry, we can't keep you in our hospital here, we are full, you have to
go some place else!" Oh my dog! Thus hide chan went to a different hospital and had to stay
there for a few weeks! Ouch!
Next accident was several weeks before the Last Live: Again drunk, hide chan climbed onto a
parked car and jumped down and broke his leg! Ouch! For the Last Live he got rid of the plaster
though and was better again luckily...

So that was the short TV list I managed to assemble concerning  a few of hide chan's
appearances on Japanese TV.
Watch out for a list on X and X Japan, since I have that one in the making as well!
Considering the terrible events that shook the planet recently I would like to express my deepest
concern and condolences for the victims and those who are left behind and I wish that we
would have peace!
